Scan Advertisements
Collect beacon and sensor advertisements from gateways, filtered by device address, name or service.
Scan advertisements and read GATT services through BLE gateways, to track assets, rooms and short-range sensors.

Bluetooth Low Energy is the short-range radio built into phones and countless small sensors. A device either broadcasts advertisements that any nearby scanner can hear, or accepts a connection and exposes GATT characteristics. A BLE gateway sits in the room, listens, and forwards what it hears so a signal strength or a reading becomes data.

Connect through a gateway and read standard services such as environmental sensing and battery level.
Use signal strength from several gateways to tell which room an asset or tag is in.
Drop duplicates and unknown devices at the gateway so only meaningful readings travel upstream.
Radio range depends on walls and metal. Position gateways by testing, not by floor plan alone.
Advertising data is public. Do not put sensitive information in a broadcast.
Phones and many tags use random addresses, which changes how you identify a device.
It works through BLE gateways in your premises, which scan and forward data over IP.
It can estimate which gateway or room a tag is nearest to from signal strength. It does not claim metre-level positioning.
